Days 1

The Arrival

  • Today we depart on our flight to Havana. Upon arrival into Havana, we meet our local agent and English/Speaking local guide (who will be willing to speak Spanish and teach you some basic words and phrases) transfer by airconditioned coach to our accommodation preferably in the vicinities of the University of Havana. Days 2

WE ARE STARTING

  • Brief walking tour about the University of Havana, its main faculties. Meet with your Spanish teacher who will tell you about the Spanish course. you will at class 3 hours per day
    At arrival and before staring it will be offered a professional look of the University, the oldest Cuban higher education center. (Founded on January 5, 1728), in the same we go through the hand of one specialist, through a space no larger 35 minutes away, its history and architectural details that only in a visit of this type the person can enjoy considering the famous Aula Magna

Days 3

Tours and Lessons

  • After a three hour lesson at Spanish Faculty we transfer by coach with guide to the Old Quarters of Old Havana and walk on foot through Old Havana, UNESCO World Heritage Site - The Cathedral Square, Plaza de Armas Square, San Francisco and Plaza Vieja. Visit to the City Museum housed in the Palacio de los Capitanes Generales*.

    *Havana's city museum would be a tour de force, courtesy of the opulent palace in which it resides. Filling the whole western side of Plaza de Armas, the Palacio de los Capitanes Generales dates from the 1770s and is a textbook example of Cuban baroque architecture, hewn out of rock from the nearby San Lázaro quarries. A museum has been here since 1968.

Days 4

Lessons and Nature

  • After a three hour lesson at the Spanish Faculty we continue to our guided tour by coach to the National Botanical Garden

    Havana's 600-hectare botanical garden suffers from an out-of-town location. It opened in 1984 after 16 years of development and is hailed for its collection of 250 species of palm tree, ethno-botanical crop displays and tranquil Japanese Garden (1989.Between November and February the garden is an excellent spot for observing migratory birds. It is also known for its vegetarian Restaurante el Bambú, which serves a meat-free buffet daily. There are separate ranchones (rustic, open-sided restaurant) serving à la carte meat dishes. A brand new canopy zip-line experience was open to visitors in March 2020. There are nearly 1,500 metres of lines that we will enjoy , allowing visitors to zip across the botanical garden whilst enjoying stunning views of the diverse range of plant species.Lunch in one of its restaurants.

HEMINGWAY

    Suggestion with an extra cost /Visit to Finca Vigia where Ernest Hemingway lived for two decades, today it is a Museum. Continue to Cojimar, a tiny fishing village where Hemingway kept his yacht, the Pilar.
    We stop at El Morro Castle to enjoy the stunning view of the city, before visiting Hemingway's iconic drinking spot - Bodeguita del Medio and the iconic bar "El Floridita" .We also visit Ambos Mundos Hotel room 511 where Ernest Hemingway lived for many years.

    Guided visit the “Cabildo Quisicuaba Socio-cultural Project” which is conducted by Dr. Enrique Alemán in collaboration with the community in the Centro Habana municipality, specifically in the Los Sitios neighborhood. Its aim is to rehabilitate traditional folk culture there, taking into account the spiritual, cultural and material needs of this population.Given the qualitative and multidisciplinary character of this effort, social concerns are of great importance, since the project is an attempt to rescue and rehabilitate tangible and intangible values of a locality with serious social problems.Carrying out this project also affects the process of improving and sustaining the quality of life of the area’s inhabitants, and therefore the community as a whole. Actions carried out within this project are in one way or another achieved by the participation of many community members

Days 7

last day of Course

  • Included today is a final two hours lesson.

    Free Time

    Dinner tonight at a top family restaurant called paladar* (transfers to and from included)

    *Paladares (plural) are one of the best ways to enjoy local Cuban cuisine. A Paladar is a small, family-run restaurant, usually in a converted part of a home. Many Paladares appear & operate much like a normal restaurant. Here, guests can taste some of the best food in Cuba as well as experience intimate & warm setting with the locals, featuring traditional Cuban food & music

Days 8

LAST DAY OF THE TRIP

    Viñales. Depart today for Pinar del Rio province and its Vinales Valley - a UNESCO World Cultural Landscape. View the Mogotes from "Los Jazmines'' lookout. Visit "La Cueva del Indio" where we travel in traditional boats along an underground river. Lunch at "El Palenque de Los Cimarrones" for creole meal Visit Mural de la prehistoria, great paintings at the hills.

    Suggestion with an extra cost .Out-door cabaret of Tropicana, an institution since its 1939 opening, It's easily Havana's most popular cabaret ,that shows amazing colors, music and dancers
    Included upon entrance is a cigar for gentlemen and a flower for ladies…and a small measure of rum and cola is served before the show starts at 22h00.

SEE YOU SOON

  • It is sad but it is time to say goodbyes and return home with pleasant memories and of course speaking Spanish and armed with other skills…
